This PlaneTag is from the first B-1B production bomber ever built, Serial #82-0001 by Rockwell International. It’s maiden flight was in October 1984 at the US Air Force Plant 42 in Palmdale, CA. This supersonic four-engine strategic bomber with variable sweep wings was capable of Mach speed at low altitudes, and designed to carry twenty four B61 thermonuclear bombs. 100 B-1B Lancers were built between 1983 and 1988. Our B-1 was disassembled at Griffiths AFB for radar testing. With current Homeland Security restrictions, we are very fortunate to add these limited PlaneTags to our collection.
-Authentic - made from actual retired aircraft fuselage, not merely stamped metal.
-Unique - each PlaneTag bears the color, thickness, and wear and tear from the portion of the fuselage from which it was cut and it is therefore rare to create two identical PlaneTags.
-Collectible - each one is numbered in a limited edition and comes attached to a display card.
-Versatile - comes with a durable metal ring, strong enough to attach to luggage or keys or display.
